INNOVATIONS
Atal Innovation Laboratory (ATL)
The Government of India has set up the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) at NITI Aayog. They ascertain the need to create a scientific temper and nurture the spirit of curiosity and innovation among young minds.
The ATL was established in 2016 in the Vidyalaya.
The objective of ATL in Vidyalaya
ATL is a workspace where young minds can give shape to their ideas through hands-on do-it-yourself mode; and master innovation skills. To foster inventiveness among students, in ATL we will conduct different activities, exhibitions, workshops on problem-solving, designing and fabrication of products, lecture series etc. at periodic intervals where students can use equipment on – science, electronics, robotics, open source microcontroller boards, sensors and 3D printers and computers.
Lab Activities
The range of activities is diverse and will affect how the lab is designed. Some of these activities are:
Demonstration: After developing the project completely by the students in a team, The teachers and school principals are invited to share their ideas Subsequently these projects are to be further developed.
Use of ICT: Children can access lab computers, the internet, and subject videos to illustrate particular aspects of the chosen project idea. A copy of the project will be maintained in the lab. A video projector is used for group demonstrations.
Discussion and note-making: Students are to maintain their workbook, group discussions are to be conducted and facilitated by ATL I/C. using presentations.
The ATL I/C, the work education teacher, and other science teachers of the Vidyalaya encourage students for making projects.
